Our book on the history of the Boston & Maine Railroad’s Lexington Branch, Minuteman Railroad, was sent to the printer on November 21. While focusing on the standard-gauge line that served the “Minuteman towns” of Arlington, Lexington, Bedford, Concord, and Billerica from 1846 to 1981, it includes also previously unpublished information about the Billerica & Bedford Railroad’s two-foot narrow gauge and the Lexington & Boston Street Railway’s parallel trolley service. How the Branch was operated and what it meant to the five towns are explored in detail with some 250 photos and other graphics. The 212-page hardbound book with dust jacket will be priced at $49.95 and should be available from FBDP in January.
